What's in a name? Perfection!

I am so excited by my recent purchase. Most of my close friends know that I live by a pretty strict budget so for me to make what I call a "luxury buy," it's a pretty big deal (and well deserving of a mention in this blog).
Our first profoundly spiritual experience was with the Genmaicha Pink salt, which we sprinkled over fresh avocados with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Mmmmmmmm. Last night we had the Lemon Thyme salt over greens, tomatoes, hearts of palm and snap peas. Nummy! Emmett and I have so many plans for the other salt treats...Smoked Chili salt on scrambled eggs, Lime Flake salt paired with a good tequila, grilled tofu with Six Pepper salt, Lavender Grey salt on dark chocolate. It is such a thrill to experiment with these salts that we thought a salt tasting party was in order (much like people have wine tasting parties). Those with discriminating palates and low blood pressure are invited!
As usual, you introduce your mom to another new experience. I must visit soon so you can pamper me in sea salt! Best part of the article is that you made me (and everyone who read it) want to try sea salts! Maybe you should share your new recipes with us??? Just a though. Mom

Great Blog! we've been in love with Saltistry since receiving them as a gift last year. One of our favorite salts from the Sampler is the Six Pepper Salt- WOW! try it with their "Bloody Mary on a Stick" the Saltini. Skewer a baby tomato, dip in chilled vodka, then dunk in the six pepper salt- so good!
They have lots more recipes on their Salistry website(www.saltistry.com). Also, the site is really beautiful and the pictures will get you salivating just by looking at them.
Can't wait to try them with the avocado-balsamic-olive oil combo. yummy!!!

My wife found out about Saltistry from Daily Candy and we purchased a sampler. Needless to say it's a delicious way to spice up a marriage, uh, I mean meal. On the rare occasions when we can both sit down together for a meal we love to explore the different flavors. I like the heartier smoked chili and herb grey. She likes the more complex genmaicha. I never even considered salting a salad, the pepper mill and LOTS of dressing was always my formula. Until I tried the lemon thyme on lightly dressed greens. We both use the six pepper with reckless abandon. And we've also been experimenting with the lavender grey and lime flakes on desserts (!). Who knew??
